Fun at Boomrock’s Bunkers

2017 has been a great year for the team at The Surgery. A lot of projects have been turned around and we could not have done it without the hard work of every member of the team. As a thank you for the hard work and to blow off some steam, we took the entire team to Boomrock yesterday Some of the guys who had not shot before, where a bit apprehensive. But once they gave it a go, they got right into it. What an amazing

Regular Maintenance Detailing Guide, Thanks to Detail Depot

I use this time to setup the rest of the gear I need to wash the car, hoses, water blaster etc….Once the wheel cleaner has fully soaked in I use a wheel brush

The Surgery Sprints – Round 4 – Sep 10th

It was pretty wet on the way up from Wellington. And the weather was not looking good. But as the drivers briefing finished the skies cleared and the day started to dry out. Alpine A110 – At the Start of It’s Restoration Journey

The whole team is very excited about this project, very cool car and very rare in New Zealand. This Alpine A110 looks amazing in its current condition. Just imagine how it’s going to look when fully restored. Bit of History from Wikipedia Launched in 1961 the A110, like previous road-going Alpines, used many Renault parts, including engines. While its predecessor the A108 was designed around Dauphine components, the A110 was updated to use R8 parts. Unlike the A108, which was available first as a cabriolet and only later as a coupé, the

1977 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser – Surgical Procedure

The road into this story is a long and winding one, which begins when three of the Muir brothers — Tony, Neville, and Guy — began developing a 121-lot subdivision in Ngaio, Wellington, in 1970. Tony initially owned a 1965 Land Rover, and, in 1968, he and Guy purchased two new Austin Gipsys, originally designed as competitors to the Landy. In 1976, the brothers replaced the Gipsys with two new Toyota Land Cruisers (these days referred to as ‘FJ40s’), and, in 1978, the three brothers
